Essential Responsibilities:
· Manages a group or function within the CWI technology organization – primarily focused around Type 1 Research and Development with focus on polymers, simulations, metallurgy, and advanced analysis and material research.
· Responsible for meeting objectives within the assigned areas of responsibility.
· Provides leadership and consultation to engineering managers and professional colleagues.
· Educates, mentors and supervises engineering managers and less experienced staff.
· Formulates goals and forecasts personnel requisitions.
· Monitors and approves contributions and updates to design guidelines.
· Supports product line management in the development and commercialization of new products and services through the PDM process.
· Provides technical advice and support to Product Line, Operations, Geoscience, Sales and Marketing on the application of products and services.
· Subject matter expert on how products are conceived, designed, and validation tested to best meet customer needs and optimize cost and manufacturability.
· Submits abstracts for technical papers and participates in the preparation of papers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in Operations/Engineering environment
· Managerial training is preferred
· Ability to manage multiple teams comprised of managers and engineers.
. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required
· Experience in research and development with regards to advanced materials, simulation, metallurgy, and polymers considered a plus.
· Advanced technical skills.
· Advanced written and verbal skills.
· Strong ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently.
· Advanced problem solving and project management skills.
· Excellent organizing, planning, and presentation skills.
· Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and customer focused with a drive for results. Sound ability to manage time, make quality decisions, and manage and measure work.
· Demonstrated effective leadership skills and strong inter personal skills.
