Role Description
As the first AI focused hire on our team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on the foundation for our AI-driven gaming experience. In this pivotal role, you will do more than develop AI—you will innovate at the intersection of technology and interactive gaming. Your mission is to create an AI companion that elevates the gaming experience, providing players with a unique blend of emotional connection and novel gameplay. You will spearhead the development of LLM solutions and be responsible for the end-to-end development of AI models, from conception and research to implementation and optimization, playing a crucial role in driving our product to market. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a "do-it-all" environment, ready to tackle everything from AI model development to integration and optimization within our mobile games.
Responsibilities
- Lead the AI development from the ground up, managing and developing the entire lifecycle of AI model development, including research, design, testing, integration, and production.
- Foster a tight-knit collaboration with game developers and designers, embedding the AI seamlessly to enhance gameplay and player immersion.
- Embrace rapid prototyping and iteration, aligning AI features closely with game design and user feedback to perfect the product-market fit.
- Tackle the full stack of AI development challenges, including model training, fine-tuning, deployment, and ongoing optimization, with a hands-on and pragmatic approach that push the boundaries of current technology with a resourceful mindset.
- Fine-tune AI performance specifically for mobile environments, focusing on high responsiveness and streamlined efficiency without sacrificing the quality of the gaming experience.
- Craft and iterate on the AI model with a scrappy approach, leveraging open-source tools and innovative methodologies to create a sophisticated AI system on a lean budget.
- Innovate with a lean approach, utilizing open-source resources and creative strategies to build a complex AI system that fits the unique mobile gaming context.
Requirements
- A solid technical background with a degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- Experience in AI development, with specific skills in NLP and machine learning models, ideally with applications related to dialogue systems, emotional intelligence, or character-based AI.
- Proficient in Python and familiar with key AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to propose and execute solutions with limited guidance and resources.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively with team members from diverse disciplines and conveying complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
- Scrappy mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable with navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing needs in a fast-paced startup environment.
- A passion for gaming and a creative mindset, capable of imagining and realizing innovative and immersive AI interactions within mobile games.
