JOB DIMENSIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with R&D scientists and business leaders to provide legal advice to multiple business units to maximize our intellectual property assets with: high quality patent applications; sophisticated patent prosecution strategy; tactical guidance on the development, acquisition, utilization and enforcement of global patent portfolios; and leadership in protecting new products, processes and trade secrets
- Negotiate intellectual property legal matters on behalf of the company, including with customers, suppliers, third party vendors, and joint development partners
- Provide IP leadership for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, financings, restructurings, grant applications and other special projects
- Support innovations and protect IP for global sustainability initiatives
- Serve as key-member of the global intellection property attorney team and global law team, with high degree of global coordination
- Operate in an innovative, fast-paced and collaborative organization
- Brings strong technical competence and strategic judgment to prepare and prosecute patent applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in chemical discipline
- Juris Doctorate
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
- Either admitted in PA, or in good standing in another state and eligible for in-house admission in PA
- Minimum 10 years of experience in intellectual property law (patents, trademarks and trade secrets)
- Both law firm and in-house experience preferred; experience with intellectual property litigation (patents and trade secrets) a plus
