Associate Tax Counsel

As an Associate Tax Counsel, you will be responsible for executing the company's tax controversy strategy. You will deal with tax authorities in audits and court disputes. You will also have the opportunity to lead all aspects of corporate compliance of the company branches, business permits, and tax clearance certificates (CNDs). This is an outstanding chance for a results-oriented tax function and make an immediate impact.
What You'll Do

• Take care of tax controversy matters: support tax audits, court disputes, and others
• Report the tax litigation updates to the Headquarters in San Francisco
• Support the team to set and execute the strategy in regards to tax litigation cases
• Collaborate closely with the Tax Consulting and Tax Compliance teams to understand new and current initiatives, to assess the potential impacts on your function
• Handle the tax litigation budget
• Lead the paralegal function: corporate compliance, opening and closure of branches, business permits, licenses and tax clearance certificates
• Supervise relevant precedents and impacts to Uber businesses

Basic Qualifications

• Law degree, desirable tax postgraduate degree
• +4 years of experience dealing with complex tax controversies
• Advanced legal English knowledge
• Experience with the technology or general services sectors
• Great communication skills and ability to summarize complex matters
• Highly organized and comfortable with dealing with simultaneous deadlines
