What will you do as a Business Controller BU NL?
As Business & BD Projects Controller, you are going to be a member of the Finance & Control team of BU NL consisting of a team of controllers. Your primary role is to assist the business development teams within various projects, from early development up to final investment decision. This includes financial modeling, M&A activities, structuring and challenging the assumptions applied in the business case to come to a robust business case including liaising with global departments, such as treasury and tax, to also ensure an optimal business case from a financing and tax structure perspective You will do this for the New Energy projects as well as for green and brownfield projects in the existing business models. At the same time, you will contribute to finance activities for the existing fully owned terminals and joint ventures including governance, reporting and advising on financial matters.

What do we expect from you as Business Controller BU NL?
A Master degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related subject preferably combined with a professional qualification in the finance & control area (e.g. CPA, CMA, RA, RC).
At least 10 years relevant work experience, including business development and/or M&A exposure
Experienced with enterprise valuations
Experienced with project financing
Strong analytical skills and conceptual capabilities
Self-starting
Eager to take ownership and learn more
Team player, good problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
What are the core responsibilities?
Involvement in business development and M&A projects;
Structuring of opportunities into attractive business cases;
Managing internal and external (financial) stakeholders;
Involvement in the financing strategy for projects;
Coordinating the financial part of the due diligence;
Involvement in preparing investment decision documentation and project updates;
Involvement in financial review, reporting and governance of joint ventures;
Managing the planning and reporting cycle of Finance and Control aspects (including tax, treasury, insurances, sustainability and audit);
Supporting the realization of the business objectives in the short and long term;
Liaising with internal and external (financial) stakeholders;
Representing Vopak in finance work streams both internally and externally (meeting of terminal and shareholder financial representatives);
Supporting the management team with post-merger integration of new businesses, including a.o. the implementation of Vopak reporting requirements and Purchase Price Allocation reporting.
