The Opportunity
As Buyer / Procurement Specialist, you´ll responsible for verifying that the materials, parts, components, services, and supplies demanded by the production process and operation are acquired at competitive prices, which meet quality standards and, in the quantities, ordered.
This through requesting price quotes, specifications, and other information necessary to make purchasing decisions. You must also monitor the performance of suppliers. The objective of the position is to have a local point of contact in the operation from the purchasing area.
What You’ll Do
- Prepares PO’s per requirements of MRP/requisitions and monitors delivery of product against PO’s. Sourcing/quoting requirements for goods and services required to support the operation activities.
- Coordinates the return of damaged goods, replacement items, or credit arrangements and arrange for vendor corrective action and work with SQE and supplier to improve quality.
- Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules, collaborate with suppliers to maintain supplies to minimize shortages of supplies.
- Maintain and update Supplier Data base (ASL) as required and work with SQE to perform a Supplier evaluation and management
- Coordinate together with the logistics area and customs agents the import of parts, equipment and components required for the operation under the maquila scheme
- Communicating clear, concise information via phone, e-mail, or other methods.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Years of experience, both overall and any industry-specific experience needed: 3 years of experience in purchasing and foreign trade.
- Profecient in English

- Other qualifications/certifications: SAP MM module
