JOB DIMENSIONS
-    General purpose: provides  technical support for the business units in the areas of crop nutrients, and oil and gas. The position contributes to and can lead ongoing Research and Development. The projects and goals are aimed at solving problems and providing answers to our Sales Staff and Customers; to improve product quality and to develop new products.
ACTIVITIES

-    Evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances (raw materials) in order to investigate their applications to mining/crop nutrient chemicals.
-    Design new products and make improvements to existing products and formulations.
-    Test finished products for quality purposes and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.
-    Participate in ongoing research projects, fostering creative ideas and promoting teamwork in the successful completion of assigned tasks.
-    Design and execute test programs, collect and analyze data, perform sound scientific interpretation of the data, run pilot tests and industrial tests, write reports in a clear, concise and logical manner and coordinate documentation and communication of information.
-    Work with marketing and sales team to help determine customers’ unmet needs.
-    Effectively work with operations team throughout the scale up process of new products.
-    Provide laboratory support to QA and Production; perform analytical tests. 
-    Maintain laboratory records in a neat and organized fashion.
-    Work in laboratory safely and in accordance with safety procedures.
-    Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
-    Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms to internal customers.
-    Demonstrate a keen eye for detail and the capacity to effectively prioritize tasks.
-    Guarantee the timely and efficient completion of all assignments while maintaining data integrity.
-    Limited travel, up to 25%
-    Other duties, as assigned. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-    Must be self-motivated with a can-do attitude 
-    Must be adaptable to changing objectives and priorities 
-    Proficiency with MS Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
-    Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
-    Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
-    Basic knowledge of safety procedures including personal protection equipment (PPE) and standard lab safety procedures

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

-    Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or other related technical field required
-     2+ years of experience in a lab based role preferred but not required, can include undergraduate research experience
