Compliance Leader and DPO Brazil

What the day will look like

Some of the responsibilities and daily routine of the Compliance Leader and Data Protection Officer are:

  • Report to LATAM Legal & Compliance Officer.
  • Provides Compliance advice to Aon Companies in Brazil and more broadly to LATAM.
  • Brings assistance in structuring new products, ensuring compliance with local market regulations.
  • Preparation or participation in Committees as voting member for Third Parties approvals and Risk Committee and Ethics Committee as well.
  • Compliance with corporate policies regarding TOBAS, liability limits, etc.
  • Participates in contracting processes with customers, suppliers and third parties.
  • Advices on regulatory issues with surveillance and control entities - Relations with Government Entities.
  • Handle Conflicts of Interests, trainings and decisions on anti money-laundering cases, bribery prevention, sponsorship and others.
  • Make strategic decisions, mitigate risks and advise C-level management with a risk management approach, protecting the company and enabling business in a compliant and secure manner.
  • Provide advice regarding the trade restriction policy and their implementation
  • Develop and supervise policies and standards applicable to the business and in compliance with the LGPD and GDPR.
  • Improving and supervising a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with LGPD and GDPR,
  • Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects and related data to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws,
  • Leading and conducting ongoing reviews of Company’s privacy governance framework.
  • Supervising changes to local privacy laws and making recommendations to the Committee when appropriate.
  • Delivering privacy training to various business functions. Developing strategies and initiatives to ensure engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

How this opportunity is different

As a leader in Compliance you will provide advice to the requirements and needs in the region, in order to ensure that Aon's business is developed within its own legal framework and in line with the Corporate company guidelines. Likewise, as a Data Protection Officer is a must to develop strategies in educating company's employees about data compliance, training members of staff who are involved in processing data and carrying out regular security audits. As a part Legal structure, this leader can be involved in Legal strategic projects. 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Great communication and stakeholder management
  • Consulting skills, being able to guide the business towards the best solution for the company.
  • Conflict resolution and impartiality to make decisions
  • Experience owning the legal and compliance area in a global company.
  • Experience in investigations
  • Bachelors degree in Law
  • MBA or other professional certifications preferred
  • Desirable experience in insurance sector
  • Proficient in English
  • Spanish is a plus
