Purpose of the position
The key purpose of the position is to prepare and be responsible for the electrical and software design including installation instructions for RUP projects, ensure the testing and be responsible for the quality of the solutions delivered, and that it is according to required standards and directives, as well as lead and coordinate the customer projects.
In addition, the position will also be a representative in related New Product Development projects, prepare and develop standard designs and kits, as well as develop new engineers and provide technical training.
The role reports directly to Manager, Services Engineering & Support.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare and responsible for RUP software, electrical design, electrical drawing specification, and installation instructions
- Create both software and electrical design/BOM list for customer quotations & customer orders
- Prepare cost & price calculations for software & electrical design
- Proactively implement solutions to improve RUP quality (not only in design but also as part of the rest of the order to delivery process)
- Drive and responsible for software & electrical RUP quality (from order to delivery)
- Responsible to support software & electrical RUP QSRs
- Develop and design testing solutions for software and electrical RUP design
- Prepare and responsible for test instructions related to software & electrical RUP design
- Lead and coordinate customer projects from order to delivery from our factory/warehouse
- Lead and drive for shorter leadtimes in RUP software & electrical design, BOM list, instructions, and related project delivery
- Coordinate with regions and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications
- Global technical support for RUP project
- Responsible to ensure the RUP software & electrical design is according to required standards and directives (e.g. CE related requirements)
- Responsible for the RUP solution related to software & electrical hardware end of life
- Support in programming of electrical controllers for spare part
- Work directly with other engineering disciplines to establish product concepts, perform design verifications, carry ideas through final product design and rapidly respond to design changes
- Develop new standard designs and kits
- Representative in New Product Development project
- Responsible for customization design from conceptual to preparation drawing
- Guide, support, and develop new engineers
- Provide technical training and material
- Lead and participate in various projects
- Responsible for spare part drawing specification improvement and design development
- Spare part technical support in technical enquiries
- Global spare part technical support for regions and the Products & Services organization
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- A relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline
Preferred Career Experience
- Minimum 10 years of applicable working experience with relevant electrical circuitry design work
Technical Skills
- Relevant experience on design tool such like EPLAN, E3 PRO etc.
- Understanding of industrial standard related to machinery and power supply
- Knowhow of electrical control system and relevant experience of software platform programming such as CoDeSys or similar
- Service experience with spreaders
- Evaluate products/design based on internal and external point of interest
- Write professional technical reports
- On site product evaluation and technical support
- Experience of Google Suite
