We, at Cargotec, are looking for a talented Finance and Accounting Trainee, who strives to develop and grow in an international and respectful organisation. The trainee will become part of one of our RTR (record-to-report) teams, which are responsible for accounting for and coordination of month-end general ledger close, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. Our accountants have the end-to-end view of the accounting process and the financial statements, so the Trainee will have the opportunity to engage in diverse and challenging activities.

Our traineeship program provides opportunities for a flexible schedule – we are looking for a trainee to join us for a 4-hour working day (20 hours per week).
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Support accounting services for selected processes and countries, which may include coordination of month-end general ledger close, preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Work closely with Accountants and Senior Accountants to develop knowledge of the accounting area and to gain practical experience
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting
- Assist in preparation of analysis explaining data obtained against prior periods and budgets.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Four-year university student in a relevant area (Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting)
- Strong numerical skills
- Some hands-on experience with Excel would be considered as a great advantage
- Sufficient interest in the accounting and finance field
- Fluency in English – verbal and written
- Ability to work as a part of a team, good communication skills and motivation to learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
