Innovate to solve the world's most important challenges
Be responsible for performing a wide range of complex mechanical engineering functions related to the architecture, design, testing, and evaluation of thermal systems. As a Lead Thermal architect, you create robust, scalable, and extensible thermal architecture solutions that account for current and anticipated in aero, directed energy and data center application competitive needs. You are the point of contact for external customers and will help to develop and define engineering processes in your area of expertise. You may participate in development of new business opportunities and product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, models and integrates fluidic and heat transfer systems. Specifically heat and mass transfer enhancements, phase change heat transfer, multiphase flow, vapor-compression systems, thermal management/storage systems.
- Architects, develops and implements mechanical engineering designs for new systems and components.
- Articulates architectural tradeoffs in the thermal space in terms of key metrics such as feasibility, performance, cost, risk, and schedule.
- Create process flow diagrams, thermodynamic models, and simulations for the prototypes.
- Develops test specifications and evaluation protocols.
- Participates in the preparation of invention disclosures.
