You actively participate in improving the visibility and proactivity towards our customers and internal stakeholders by optimizing the funnel management. As a Sales Support Engineer in our AMER Energy Business Services Sales Support, you will be part of an international working environment where you will gain and develop in-depth know-how of lifecycle solutions for land-based power generation business. This would create an excellent basis for various future career possibilities within Wärtsilä. Our team is comprised of rich and diverse personalities spread all over the Americas. In this position, you will report to the Regional Operations General Manager in Wärtsilä, and the preferred location of the position is in Rio de Janeiro.This is a face-to-face job,flexible enough to work from home a few days a month.

 

 

As a Lifecycle Proposal Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:

•    Lead the offering process by effectively generating specific solutions that create added value propositions for the Customer.
•    Manage Opportunities in Salesforce.
•    Deliver high quality and timely proposals, while ensuring reliable margin definition across the whole offering process.
•    Identify new sales potentials through a proactive approach to increase scope of normal proposals and to achieve Sales Growth and Profitability.
•    Enable and maintain good communication with all internal stakeholders (AMs, FS Team, TS Team, Sales Support team) to ensure the proposed solution is both technically and commercially sound, provide added value for the customer.
•    Ensure the proper transfer of responsibility from Sales to Delivery occurs.
•    Ensure that the offers incorporate all necessary safety measures (Safety
•    Commitment/ Safety related Customer responsibilities/JSA).
•    Address Sales Potentials promptly, ensuring quality Leads are passed to the Sales Representatives.
•    Participate and/or co-lead customer meetings both technically and commercially.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

•    Completed degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
•    Previous experience creating proposals is desirable.  
•    Knowledge in Salesforce (or similar CRM) and SAP.
•    Good commercial understanding and capacity to transfer product technical features to commercially appealing proposals.
•    Demonstrate a good understanding of margin and cost calculation/pricing strategies.
•    Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
•    Positive teamwork attitude.
•    Good Knowledge of Wartsila products and service and a technical background.
•    Spanish or Portuguese as native language 

•    Advanced/Fluent in English
•    Microsoft Office proficient.

•    Experience in successfully working with various stakeholders to deliver on customer expectations.
