- Support development and implementation of internal data retention / e-discovery policies and best practices.
- Support e-discovery and legal technology applications for legal and compliance teams globally with a focus on litigation and investigations.
- Provide expertise and insight on the most efficient management of preservation, collection, review and analysis of electronic documents and data from company sources, and supervision of same.
- Support existing legal management tools and technologies, as well as review and provide recommendations on new and/or updated technology, and manage implementation of new tools and training.
- Support analysis of data to drive positive outcomes and efficiencies for external spend.
- Support Global Legal and Compliance teams on key projects and initiatives as directed by management.
- Develop and implement internal data retention / e-discovery policies and best practices working closely with other internal stakeholders in IT, Information Security, Compliance, Legal, outside counsel, vendors and others.

- Responsible for handling all facets of the e-discovery life cycle, including implementing document/data retention policies, identification of relevant custodians, placement of legal holds, engaging and coordinating among all stakeholders (e.g., internal/external counsel, business units, IT, custodians, external vendors), identification of relevant data sets/sources, collection of data from employees and third parties, performing complex searches, applying filtering and culling techniques, creating workspaces and workflows appropriate for data sets, document review and assisting with preparation of productions and documents.
- Preparation of legal documentation associated with discovery, such as privilege logs, discovery responses, ESI Orders/Stipulations/Agreements, chains of custody and affidavits/verifications.
- Manage standard ESI protocols, including reviewing and updating protocols, training materials and workflows.
- Support internal and external counsel with negotiating ESI protocols and appropriately tailored search terms.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent approach to document production, discovery responses and application of privileges/protections across matters globally.
- Support adherence to and continued learning regarding e-discovery best practices and standards.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on legal and regulatory obligations relating to records management.
- Support internal and external counsel in obtaining, evaluating and negotiating services from third-party e-discovery vendors, including identifying, vetting, supervising and/or conducting quality control.
- Prepare and/or review e-discovery budgets and ensure projects remain within established costs and time parameters.
- Provide support and make recommendations relating to legal technology tools/software (such as e-billing, case and document management platforms, Microsoft e-discovery programs, legal hold platform and applicable AI tools), including assistance with evaluating, recommending, and updating software/programs as needed, designing/implementing to meet internal needs, and training users.
- Gather, organize and evaluate data from e-billing and matter management platforms to identify trends and insights. Leverage to develop actionable steps for improving ways of working and developing greater efficiencies relating to external spend.
- Support efforts to identify, retain and obtain documents/information in all forms for use in litigation/investigations, including those outside the scope of e-discovery.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Support the Global Legal and Compliance Teams in providing support on strategy, key projects and initiatives as directed by management.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of law firm, in-house legal department and/or consulting firm / e-discovery provider experience
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of e-discovery and litigation lifecycle
- Technical and working knowledge of M365 e-discovery solutions and data sources, including Purview.
- Ability to perform e-discovery related tasks with little to no IT support
- Demonstrated experience performing variety of e-discovery tasks, including data preservation/collection/retention, development of complex search parameters based on understanding of relevant issues, and document review workflow and production
- Knowledge, experience, and confidence to provide technical insight and recommendations to internal and external counsel
- Strong aptitude for technology
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness to continue learning and keeping pace with developments in the legal technology / AI space
- Understanding of privilege and work product protections, as well as laws governing confidentiality of health, financial and other data

- Data privacy and data security experience/training

- Fluency or proficiency in foreign languages
- Technical and working knowledge of e-discovery and legal technology platforms, such as Relativity, Brainspace, Nuix
- Familiarity with TyMetrix and iManage
- Familiarity with electronic legal research databases such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis
- Familiarity with US Federal and state court e-discovery rules/protocols
- Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
- Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
