The primary purpose of this position is to formulate and implement design solutions and to provide training to assist the Sales Team, Dealerships, A&D Community and clients to achieve their business objectives through creative work environment design.

In addition to supporting business development, conducting presentations, training dealers and collaborating with A&D partners, this position will be responsible for working as a resource for the Sales Team with design-project management on select opportunities; planning, preparation of specifications, drawings, views, take offs, etc. 

Specific responsibilities

1. Provide training and Support for product application, Design and planning to Sales, Dealers and the A&D community.

2. Participate in meetings with Sales, dealers, costumers / architects during the design stage. Understand client’s/sale’s requirements and communicate with all stakeholders during various stages of the projects.

3. Proficiency with space planning, specification of products and pricing.

4. Concern for quality of work in terms of clarity on drawings and accuracy.

5. Coordinate with the Product Management team for any nonstandard products as per the requirement of clients.

6. Self-learning to remain current in all product lines. 

7. Maximize the application of the HMI product portfolio (local, HM NA, HM UK and even POSH) in all opportunities projects.

8. Understand and be capable of training others in the HMI products, tools and processes. Including Omni, Office Living, Learning, Mainstreet and Habitat. 

9. Apply new work trends, such as "Design With Impact" _ collaboration with sales team. 

10. Analyze and research the best solution for the client. 

11. Training all elected design, application software and drawing tools. 

12. Must have availability to travel around Brazil – 10% of time

13. Project Management/Customer Coordination: 

  • Project performance management and reporting: Able to estimate the scope of work, execute the project plan, record progress, and report status to Sales Manager.
  • Interacting with the Sales, Dealers and clients at various stages of the projects.
  • Track document hours spent on assigned projects 
  • Constant upgrading and updating oneself with the latest in the industry and products launched.
  • Meeting project delivery deadline every single time without any misses or excuses.
  • Pitching in as required to support Sales and Dealers ensuring quality work is delivered within the stipulated timeline.
  • Minimum Requirements

    • Preferred a minimum of 3-4 years experience in office furniture industry with space planning knowledge.
    • Architect, Industrial designer, Interior design or equivalent design degree.
    • Proven working knowledge of AutoCAD is a must along with knowledge of MS Office products.
    • Knowledge of 20/20 Software or any specification software is strongly recommended.
    • Should be detail oriented and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Should have the ability to work independently and as a team player.
