St. Nicholas School is seeking to appoint a Portuguese language and literature teacher to support our students with additional learning needs across our all-age campus. Main responsibilities within the role: Plan, prepare, and organize learning based on robust blend of the MYP curriculum and the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) for Portuguese Use a range of teaching strategies, ICT tools, and communication tools for learning and assessment, while promoting an inquiry-based approach and the IBO’s learner profile. Use a variety of purposefully selected assessment strategies, keep systematic records of learning, and support all learners appropriately, including adapting assessments as necessary. Take part in wider school activities such as departmental development, school events, extracurricular activities (ECAs) and the school’s pastoral program Attend training and develop professionally within the school’s performance management framework Required skills and attributes - Desirable (D) and Essential (E) Fluent Portuguese (verbal and written) (E); Mastery of English (D); Graduate degree in education (E); Experience in social-emotional aspects of learning (E); Experience in collaborating with teachers responsible for language acquisition programmes, such as English/Portuguese as an Additional Language (D); Experiencing of working in a multidisciplinary team where the student is at the centre (D).
