Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Accounting Consultant will support the Controller´s organization to build our accounting and finance strategy to ensure the financial reporting accurately reflects the business activities and follows accounting standards. He/she will apply full knowledge and understanding to lead to financial statements integrity and assurance, including published generally accepted accounting principles and internal financial reporting data. Also, this position will support indirect staff on monitoring and following up on shared service center accounting activities to ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with local and USGAAP accounting standards. In this role, you will be contributing to establish and maintain accounting policies, controls and compliance with regulation. #LI-AM4#LI-Hybrid
Key Accountabilities
- Apply accounting techniques and standards practices evaluating business processes and risks on financial reports.
- Manages material risks to the integrity of Cargill´s financial reporting under relevant internal and external authoritative guidance based on U.S. GAAP, IFRS and Local statutory.
- Partner with the team to support complex end to end financial reporting activities identifying inherent risks to financial reporting, safeguarding assets and implement appropriate financial controls.
- Integrate an effective system of internal controls for financial reporting, including control deficiencies identification and communication to key leader to resolve financial control deficiencies and monitor remediation of non-financial internal control deficiencies and risks.
- Be accountable for external audit and support internal audit.
- Independently handle complex technical accounting issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with active CRC required.
Confirmed ability to identify and assess risk.
Ability to communicate, influence and build trust with partners at multiple levels in the organization.
Related work experience on reviewing risks on processes and financial statements under IFRS and USGAAP.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Data Tools, and Consolidation Systems (JDE One Word, SAP, JDE A9 and others).
Advanced English.
