Job Summary

In this position, you will be designing, implementing and validating complex automation and electrical projects by providing technical support to our customers. Also, you will collaborate in automation projects that have a high component of innovation and are strongly oriented to comply with Tetra Pak and Customer quality standards.
The position is based in Monte Mor, São Paulo, Brazil.
You will be travelling 35 % of your time to our customer sites in USA.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do

As a Senior Automation Engineer you will:

  • Lead and participate in the commissioning and startup of automation systems, ensuring they operate according to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test automation components, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other control devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in existing automation systems to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Ensure that all automation systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Scada Systems Work with and fault find on programmable control systems, network, database, IO Servers.
  • Be engineering staff for project development and implementation of projects.
  • Interface with account managers and customers to assess the customer requirements and thereby create cost effective quotations and solutions
  • Elaborates functional specifications for automation and electrical solutions
  • Specify and require materials for project implementation
  • Execute startup and commissioning of systems/modules in conjunction with Process Engineer
  • Provide ongoing customer support & troubleshooting as necessary
  • Conduct automation training for customer personnel on the installed systems.
  • Desirable to analyze system design and create original or modify existing HMI, database and PLC Programs to meet project requirements.
  • Be Leader of the Automation and Electrical disciplines in the projects.

We believe you have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering and Electrical Engineering or related technical fields.
  • Solid work experience as an Automation Engineer.
  • Strong background in commissioning and troubleshooting industrial automation systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits, control panels, and motor control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, ASI).
  • Must be fluent in English conversations.
  • Experience programming and implementing automation systems is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge in PLC’s and component Rockwell.
  • Knowledge of data bases SQL Microsoft server is preferred.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP, Visio and Eplan.
  • Read Electrical drawings, P&I Diagram and Automation Architecture.
  • Ability to work within a virtual team.
  • Able to undertake continual training and further development of skills.
  • CREA certification is mandatory.
