What You’ll Do
As a Senior Sybase DBA, you will be responsible for managing production environments, such as implementation, maintenance of production databases, development and preparation.
You will work with teams in India to align and propose improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Process knowledge on Incident Management & Change management.
Good Trouble shooting & Performance Tuning skills.
Physical Standby database configuration and maintenance for disaster recovery & business continuity.
Experience in handling of Performance tuning issues.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Be able to work with team members located in multiple geographies and time zones.
Be flexible and willing to work in shifts.
Keeping track of all scheduled work and taking the necessary measures in the event of failure.
Preferred experience :
Experience in database migrations / upgrades.
Experience in installing / configuring ASE server databases on Unix / Windows.
Experience in installing and configuring Sybase ASE in different environments and knowledge of replication.
Creating user devices / databases, defining database options.
Dealing with database corruption.
Monitoring database growth and logging data server errors.
Good Knowledge on Shell Scripting.
Setting limits for data segments / logs.
Backup and recovery, updating UAT / development data servers.
Experience in Patch Management.
Performance monitoring of all Solaris / AIX boxes.
Scheduling periodic jobs using the cron utility.
Experience in all ticketing tools, such as Remedy / ITSM, etc.
