What will you do as a Senior Investment Manager?
The Senior Investment Manager will have a leading role in the team. Responsibilities include generating relevant deal flow, executing deal processes and serving as shareholder representative or board member in portfolio companies. You will be responsible for assessing follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies and exits. You are assisted by financial analysts and business owners throughout Vopak.

A gross salary between €85K- €127K depending on your experience, knowledge and maturity in the role & attractive bonuses.

What do we expect from you as a Senior Investment Manager?
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or relevant field
10+ years of professional experience with a focus on financial M&A/venture capital and/or business creation (investments, spin-offs, start-ups). Experience as deal lead preferred.
Robust business and financial and strategic business acumen
Strong communication skills to articulate and underpin concepts, propositions and theses, both verbal and written. Experience with internal stakeholder management.
Entrepreneurial spirit, stress-resistant and ambitious
Excellent networking skills
Experience with supervisory/advisory boards is a plus
Affinity with the energy market
What does your day look like?
We work in a small team in a dynamic environment with start-ups and scale-ups. This means that every day will be different. One day you might have to act on sudden changes within one of the portfolio company you're responsible for, another day you might be performing due diligence or negotiation for a new investment. Throughout the year you will be contributing to building up the Vopak Venture’s team, analyzing new investment opportunities and markets which can contribute to the strategy of Vopak to “help the world flow forward”.
Your core responsibilities are:
Be responsible for new investments (full deal process). Identifying new investment opportunities, due diligence, negotiations and deal execution. As deal owner, bring investment proposals to the Vopak Ventures Board of Directors and - dependent the ticket size - the Vopak Executive Board
Actively manage a # of portfolio companies; through your role as shareholder rep or (observer) board member. Help companies by bringing strategic value, e.g. by connecting to Vopak network and/or providing strategic advice. Actively manage our shareholding, including follow-on investments and exits.
Be a spokesperson for Vopak Ventures and help further develop Vopak Ventures as a CVC. Bring/build network including Vopak business partners and CVs and VC funds.
Drive innovation internally through investing within Vopak: Be(come) a trusted source of innovation through investments within Vopak. Identify companies that can add value to Global Business Development team.
Contribute to development of Vopak Ventures team. Identify investment segments, coach juniors, and help professionalize the team
