The Product Engineer (Projects & NPD - New Product Development) acts as the liaison person between R&D, operations and the quality team. The Product Engineer is responsible to assess risks of the manufacturing process of newly developed products and for the appropriate actions to ensure quality and an efficient manufacturing process.

What you will do:

  • The Product Engineer (Sustaining Engineering) performs the necessary actions within Product Engineering’s responsibility to lead the current product portfolio through its lifecycle. Key responsibilities: (Describe the primary tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with the position and actions that are required to perform in the role, be as detailed as possible. Is domestic/global travel required?) Projects & New Product Development
  • Working closely with R&D, Product Management, PASS, Quality and Operations as part of the new product development team;
  • Primary objective is to actively participate in R&D projects requiring PE support, where you provide early design input from a manufacturability perspective;
  • Follow R&D projects through the Stage Gate Process, where your responsibilities grow from design input in Gate 2 through actual implementation and handover to production in Gates 4-5;
  • Maintain focused on the new product development until Stage 6 in which you monitor quality and on time delivery;
  • Leading local and global projects initiated by Product Engineering or other departments

Who you are:

  • Master’s engineering degree. Degree in e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Business Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years meaningful work experience in engineering
  • Knowledge of process validation procedures and techniques, e.g. Process and product FMEA and process capability studies;
  • Able to write validation (IQ, OQ and PQ) documents for new products, processes and equipment;
  • Advanced knowledge of plastic processing, e.g. seal technologies, injection molding, etc.;
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications and Minitab;

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of SAP
