About you and this role - What you would do in this role  
 

The Site Logistics Engineer serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize Site Logistics operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient loading, unloading and shipment finished products and raw materials. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within job discipline. Performs routine assignments and solves standard problems using existing procedures. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. In this role, you will require conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures as well as having general business knowledge developed through education or prior experience related to your discipline and functional area. You will need to have the ability to exchange straightforward information with others and ask questions to check for understanding. It is your responsibility to use established procedures and practice to analyze and resolve standard problems. You will be accountable for assigned contributions with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts your own work with limited impact on your team. You will need to use established procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.


Responsibilities

Works closely with the operations team leveraging their problem solving skills and technical expertise.

Elevates and appropriately applies knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).

Ensures Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized,

and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant performance.

Utilizes defined MET and challenges/escalates MET application and assumptions when better solutions arise.

Partners with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline.

Diagnoses and documents root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.

Understands why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.

Acts as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.

Provides leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield or waste generation.

Ensures compliance with plant operating permits. Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.

Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team. 

Supports the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology. 


Qualifications

Required education: University Degree in Engineering
Experience: 0-3 years preferably in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.

English: advanced, preferably fluent.

The critical competencies required for success are: act upon and lead safety requirements, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, technical proficiency and analytical skills.
