In line with these ambitions, we have set up Vopak Ventures to identify investment opportunities in start-ups and scale-ups. Vopak Ventures is Vopak’s Corporate Venturing Capital arm. We are a strategic investor in promising start-up companies in three Verticales: New Energies, Feedstocks & Sustainability, Operational Excellence & Asset Management and Platforms, Data & Digital.
What will be your role?
The position is located at the Westerlaan, our headquarters in Rotterdam. In your role, you will be part of the CVC team working on new investment cases and supporting scaling of our new ventures. During your learning internship, you will be supervised by the Global Manager Joint Ventures.
What will be your tasks & responsibilities?
Perform analysis on potential investment opportunities.
Prepare desktop and web searches on ventures, organisation structures, competition and uniqueness of technology / solutions.
Prepare presentations and pitches;
Participate in due diligence teams, perform financial analysis on business plan’s, strategic and commercial propositions.
Organise events that will contribute to the reputation of Vopak Ventures within the startup and Corporate Venturing Community.
Who are we looking for?
Preferably you are a Master student of Finance, Management, Economics or other financial / business related studies.
You will remain enrolled in a Dutch university during the whole internship period
You are available starting as of February for about 3 to 6 months, preferably 5 days week (the internship will not have a specific research objective);
You are fluent in English;
You are an analytical thinker, well-organized, a self-starter with enthusiasm and initiative;
You are interested in and have a demonstrated understanding of company valuations, an active interest in start-ups and/or scale-ups.
You live in The Netherlands and have the ability to travel and work at the Vopak HQ in Rotterdam.
