Job Purpose and Impact

The Strategic Pricing Director will lead the development and execution of the Strategic Pricing process across all sales channels for all product categories. In this role, you will optimize the business approach, processes and pricing execution, coordinate to get alignment among business stakeholders and lead the strategic development and business optimization of the long term portfolio for the defined business segments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a fact based approach to customer profitability by fully understanding customer margins and margin drivers across sales channels.
  • Lead and coordinate the collaboration of key internal stakeholders to optimize profitability and anticipate market changes as well as improve the approach to pricing in segmentation, market insights, specific customer requirements and value added service.
  • Direct customer negotiations for contracting discussions, track cost and price across regional markets both domestically and globally and drive teams to proactive selling and margin optimization.
  • Build and oversee price performance reporting and analysis and related processes and optimize the margin structure to ensure the financial business objectives as well as specific customer and market targets are met.
  • Lead research and analysis to develop market pricing and develop the execution of evolving pricing strategies and improve sustainable profitability by partnering cross functionally with commercial, product line, sales, marketing and finance.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement of the Strategic Pricing process to improve quality and delivery efficiency, optimize connection with adjacent commercial processes and coordinate activities across adjacent markets regionally, domestically and globally.
  • Own the development and implementation of pricing strategies for a company's offerings, develop the pricing and sales playbook for product offerings and discount framework and run controlled pricing pilots to test and learn new models to support pricing model and price point shifts.
  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Analytical proficiency to derive insights from large and highly complex sets of business data
  • Advanced financial knowledge of profit and loss, margin and price decision making
  • Experience leading the transformation of business unit's pricing function across regional, domestic and global markets
  • Experience in project and change management
  • Supervisory experience
  • Advanced/Fluent English
