Vestas have released a new role for an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Engineer for Supplier Quality to join our collaborative team in Brazil.

This is an important role to assist in Vestas bringing the best product to our wind farms across the LATAM region.

This position is part of the Supplier Quality & Development in Vestas LATAM region, which coordinates SQ&D activities and ensures the highest focus on quality, safety and

environment when developing and executing the different category strategies while not compromising on Vestas`s standards and processes. The key task is to deploy strategic and

operational development of key suppliers in LATAM region by performing audits, supplier assessments and leading QSE improvement projects to enforce high supplier performance, zero incidents and reduce the number non-conformities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deploy the Vestas Quality, Safety and Environment Strategy towards external suppliers under Indirect categories as Cranes, Installation and Maintenance, Component Repair and Transport.
  • Manage Supplier Quality, capability, and performance topics on behalf and in compliance with regional & global strategy.
  • Execute new markets entry strategy; new supplier onboarding ensuring Vestas processes are followed.
  • Secure agreement with regional QHSE and Construction team for completion of supplier improvement activities.
  • Lead QSE activities in cases of non-quality performance and incidents with suppliers in line with Vestas requirements.
  • Drive Supplier Business Review Meetings with cross-functional participation.
  • Ensure that relevant QSE agreements with suppliers are in place.
  • Lead and conduct supplier development projects and supplier local initiative, conduct QHSE audits, process audits and all related to internal-external executive reporting.
  • Lead supplier repair and spare parts process development and validation by using standard tools like APQP/PPAP.

 

Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor`s degree in Engineering or related to scope degree.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience on similar position with supplier management, safety and quality focus.
  • Solid hands-on experience with supplier management and driving improvement projects on quality, process and safety area.
  • Previous history working in indirect, service or transport categories is an advantage.
  • Certified auditor/lead auditor ISO, other standards and relevant quality-safety certifications will be an advantage.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive complex development projects across the organization.
  • Competency in data analytics and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written, strong meeting facilitator with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders within an international, dynamic, cross-
  • functional environment.
  • Self-driven personality, independent learning and critical thinking skills - ability to identify and deliver actionable solutions to complex problems.
  •  Fluency in English
  • Spanish fluency will be an advantage.
