About the Role
 

The Vice President of Leave Solutions is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the Leave Solutions operational business and meeting Leave Solutions objectives. This executive oversees disability and absence management services, implementation services, account management, and clinical services. The role demands an experienced executive with a track record in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and financial optimization.

This role is a key architect of organizational success, leading with an executive vision and driving digital transformation as part of our integrated, holistic benefits management strategy. This executive role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to shape and execute strategies, foster a culture of excellence, and position the organization as an industry leader in disability and absence management services.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:  Develop and execute strategies to deliver a world class disability and absence management solution.  Ensures strategies are aligned with Alight’s goals, focusing on key performance indicators, innovation, client satisfaction and efficiency.

  • Team Leadership:  Passionate about culture and colleague engagement, the VP of Leave Solutions leads, mentors and inspires colleagues & people leaders to exemplify Alight Values. Embraces Continuous Performance Management and ensures all colleagues have opportunity to learn and grow their careers.

  • Operational Excellence:  Leverages technology, data & analytics, and process excellence to drive exceptional service, productivity, efficiency, and cost management.

  • Collaboration:  Embraces One Alight Approach in delivering exceptional cross functional collaboration with key partners across Alight, including IT, Customer Service, Finance, Compliance, and other service Delivery business units. Partners closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to envision and implement promised results to market and clients, focusing on duration management and employee and manager experience.

  • Sales Support:  Plays pivotal role in relationship management with Alight clients, brokers / agencies, and Alight’s sales team, in collaboration with internal partners including product, sales support, account management & implementation teams.  Participates in customer presentations and meetings with current and potential clients.

  • Financial & Risk Management:  Oversees Leave Solutions budget to meet corporate revenue objectives and implements risk mitigation strategies that comply with company policies and industry regulations. Partners with finance to monitor performance and communicate results to executive leadership and the team.

  • Industry Knowledge & Expertise:  Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in integrated disability and absence management.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum 15 years operations / service delivery experience within the absence, disability, benefits administration, or related field

  • Minimum 7 years leading a large service delivery organization (500+ employees). Able to recruit, manage and grow high performing teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and executing strategy, and in delivering operational excellence.  Strong performance improvement mindset and proven ability to leverage data & analytics to drive decision making and process improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop business plans and financial models that support strategic objectives and priorities.

  • Exceptional leadership ability, able to achieve and maintain collaborative and highly productive relationships both within and outside Alight. Inspires and motivates teams.  Maintains excellent colleague engagement.
