WHAT YOU'LL DO


BCG Nexus Costa Rica is an exciting new office that will execute best-in-class operations, serving the broader BCG business. Nexus Costa Rica will be a hub for regional and global functional teams to be co-located in a dynamic and engaging space, enabling team members to connect with and serve our BCG and client customer base. This diverse set of business services teams will cover functions such as administrative support, visual services, talent acquisition, and IT. The office is expected to expand its employee base significantly over the next few years.
The local will coordinate the accounting process activities and will be the controller of the financial statements for the local office. As a member of the local accounting team, he/she will participate in the delivery of reliable accounting services to support the business needs. He/she will provide timely and reliable financial and administrative support to the finance organization in the following areas:

  • Coordinate and review all accounting entries and guarantying the quality of the financial information and bookings.

  • Prepare month-end accruals, journal entries and allocations for payroll, and other financial activities.

  • Coordinate and/or prepare the monthly reporting to comply with local regulations including taxes and free trade zone regulations (fixed assets management, Procomer CANON reporting and Informe Anual de Operaciones).

  • Partner with a third party to coordinate the local payroll process.

  • Conduct monthly payroll reconciliations, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.

  • Participate in US financial statement review, which includes analysis of actual costs compared to budget.

  • Support various internal and external audits by preparing year-end and interim audit schedules.

  • Support ad hoc requests and provide backup to US General Ledger and A/P Team members as needed.


YOU'RE GOOD AT


  • Solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP (preferred)

  • Knowledge working with companies under the Free Trade Zone regime is desired.

  • Ability to make accurate and timely decisions related to accounting policies.

  • Applying strong analytical skills, judgement, attention to detail, and creativity to effectively solve problems and improve processes.

  • Proactive and self-driven with eagerness to continuously learn and improve.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple, simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Utilize Oracle reports and Business Objects queries to address questions and/or research issues.

  • Team-oriented and willingness to tackle variety of assignments from routine tasks to more intricate requests.


YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, with minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Experience with month-end close and year-end cycles.

  • Experience with Oracle, Business Objects and working with different systems is a plus.

  • Shared service industry experience is a plus.

  • Must have strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Candidates may be considered for this position at the Accountant or Senior Accountant levels depending on skills and experience.
