Responsibilities :
- Direct reporting to CFO.
- Manage and oversee the activities of the accounting department, establishing strong internal controls, meeting reporting deadlines and ensuring timely and accurate payment of tax obligations.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting principles, tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Monitor tax law changes that could impact the Company’s operations.
- Oversee tax planning strategies to minimize the Company's liabilities.
- Lead the audit process and collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, lawyers, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Provide guidance on complex tax and accounting matters, preparing detailed analyses and recommendations for use in decision making.
- Develop relationship with the international team to follow guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax or a related field. CRC certification required.
- 7+ years of experience in tax & accounting departments of large companies and / or Big 4 firms.
- Deep knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS and Brazil tax environment.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Expertise in ERP (TOTVS Protheus preferred).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Advanced level in English, both spoken and written.
