Hello! My name's Jason. I'm a partner here at YAP MEDIA.
We need a Full-Time Senior Accountant to take over the execution of all day-to-day finance and accounting responsibilities so leadership can focus on revenue-generating activities. I currently manage our finances, so you would report directly to me.
We are looking for someone in Central or South America – specifically Argentina or Brazil – but will consider folks in India if you can work US Hours.
The ideal person wants to learn and grow in a long-term partnership (2 years minimum, 3-5+ years preferred), is obsessed with efficiency and customer service, has a growth mindset, loves problem-solving, and is aligned with our core values.
Someone with solid accounting experience who wants to advance to Controller as our company grows would be an excellent fit for the position. Individuals with experience as financial controllers will be considered but may be overqualified for the needs of this role at this time.
YAP MEDIA (yapmedia.io) works with top influencers and podcasters to help them grow their online following and monetize their content. We are a fully remote company with 40+ team members around the world. Some of our clients include hosts from Shark Tank, the world's #1 Executive Business Coach, and Top Podcasters who receive 1 Million+ downloads a month and regularly rank as the #1 podcast in their niche on Apple Podcasts.
Below you'll find the outcomes you'll be assessed on and the competencies required for this role:
OUTCOMES:- Review and organize Accounting Inbox daily. Take over as primary correspondent for Accounting Inbox within 60 days.- Follow our month-end close process without major error during your second month-end close. Includes invoicing, billing, variance analysis, report generation, accruing expenses, etc.- Audit current accounting practices and provide recommendations for improvement 45 days and 90 days from start date.- Reconcile all accounts in Quickbooks and fix Quickbooks balance sheet errors within 30 days- Perform audit of 2024 Finance Hub and make recommendations for improvement within 30 days- Create separate P&L's for our two primary business units in our 2024 Finance Hub within 45 days- Prepare all necessary Quickbooks documents for 2023 tax filings for our Tax Accountant to file by end of February.- Setup finance spreadsheets/documents for any new clients we sign- Setup new system for finance document management within 60 days (e.g. storing W2s, W9s, 1099s, monthly reports, etc.)
ROLE COMPETENCIES:- Accrual-based accounting methods. Proficiency in using Journal Entries to accrue Revenue and Expenses.- Finance Hub management. Manage and maintain accuracy of Finance Hub in Google Sheets at all times.- Google Sheets. Proficiency in building systems using Google Sheets and Aggregating Data across various sheets.- Strong English skills, particularly written. Can speak and write clearly and articulately.- Proactive. Acts without being told what to do. Can spot and solve problems for the company.- Attention to detail. Does not let important details slip through the cracks.- High standards. Expects personal performance and team performance to be nothing short of the best.- Quickbooks Proficiency: Record transactions. Maintain ledgers. Reconcile bank statements. A/R and A/P. Process payroll. Prepare financial reports. Budgeting. Assist in tax planning. Conduct financial analysis. Collect, document, and file financial records. Perform variance analysis.

We need a Full-Time Bookkeeper and Finance Assistant to take over the execution of all bookkeeping and finance tasks so that leadership can focus on revenue-generating activities. I currently manage our finances, so you would effectively be serving as a finance assistant to me so that I can focus on business development.
We are looking for someone in Central or South America – specifically Argentina or Brazil – but will consider folks in India if you can work US Eastern Hours (EST).
The ideal person wants to learn and grow in a long-term partnership (2 years minimum, 3-5 years preferred), is obsessed with efficiency and customer service, has a growth mindset, and is aligned with our core values.

Includes invoicing, billing, variance analysis, report generation, etc.- Complete weekly checklist for recurring finance activities by EOD Thursday every week.- Reconcile all accounts in Quickbooks and fix Quickbooks balance sheet errors within 45 days- Prepare, send, and file 1099s by Jan 31st.- Maintain accuracy of our Finance Hub in Google Sheets at all times.- Setup finance spreadsheets/documents for any new clients- Setup new system for finance document management within 90 days (e.g. storing W2s, W9s, 1099s, monthly reports, etc)
ROLE COMPETENCIES:- Able to work US EST hours- Competency in GSheets and Quickbooks- Strong English skills, particularly written- Attention to detail.
