The Business Development Engineer requires a solid understanding of customer application and market needs. Actively provides technical & marketing support for the Arkema's Sulfiding Business in the Refinery, Renewable Energy and Petrochemical markets. Actively monitors projects and opportunities, working directly with potential clients to specify Arkema Sulfiding chemistries & services. He/she proposes and leads new product development projects under Arkema's stage-gate process.
Kay Activities
Technical & Marketing Support (North America)
- Provides tech support in the application of our products, services and digital platform within the Refinery, Renewable Energy and Petrochemical markets.
- Identifying, developing, and commercializing new business opportunities, primarily in the Renewable energy space. Actively engages customers & users with technical training, presentations, and trade show support.
- Provides support to internal team for equipment and instrumentation used in services operations.
- Interact closely with the global development and R&D teams by providing market insight on applications, product properties and requirements.
Internal communication and process
- Use Arkema CRM system to support and report activity
- Monthly activity reports and future plans
- Prepare activity summary presentations for peers and upper management; present as appropriate
Marketing/Communication activities
- In conjunction with commercial team, participate in trade shows
- Participate in preparation of customer presentations; present as appropriate
- Market intelligence reviews as it relates to patents and competitive position
Qualifications and Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including experience in Refinery and Petrochemicals operation
- Experience in Business Development, field marketing or sales is preferred
- Ability to work in multi-functional team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus
- Ability to prepare and present information in a clear, concise manner
- Efficient with computer and communication tools (CRMs, usual software - Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Travel up to 40%
