The opportunity:
We are looking for Data Engineers who are passionate about cloud-based solutions and big data technologies to join our experienced cross-disciplinary department. (We’re also Infrastructure Engineers and Backend Developers).
The successful candidates will be involved in enterprise-scale data platform development, including leading client discovery to produce data catalogues, designing data and infrastructure architecture, developing data ingestion pipelines and workflows, and the visualisation of data.
The Cloud is evolving quickly, and we keep our knowledge fresh by continually looking for fresh technologies and sharing what we’ve learned. You actively enjoy learning new technologies and developing your skills and will be expected to contribute to this process.
This is not a role for someone who doesn’t love data. Our architects are expected to prove solutions and contribute to the data team, as well as peer review code. At the same time, you need to be a great communicator: the role will include direct interaction with our clients, who include both technical and non-technical colleagues.
What we want from you:
- Developing data platforms, with experience within complex enterprises
- Azure and its various services
- Advanced SQL skills
- Transformations using DBT
- Azure Data Factory and Logic Apps development and orchestration
- Cloud data warehouse platforms such as Azure Data Warehouse, Synapse or Snowflake
- Event-driven architecture and data streaming
- Implementing data lake standards and best practice
- Data warehouse design and modelling skills such as dimensional or Data Vault 2.0.
- Agile delivery methodologies, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience use Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of Terraform
- Supporting a BI Development team in maintaining data warehouse and pipeline development best practices
