As a Data Analyst & BI Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating business data from our Trade & Logistics function to produce meaningful insights and metrics and to identify trends that could improve business performance. In this role, you will develop end-to-end business intelligence framework and data solutions based on requirements that includes recommending an appropriate architecture (on-premises/cloud), analytics, and reporting. This role requires close partnership with business and technology teams to guide in solution development and implementation to arrive at methodologies to develop KPIs and Metrics and will also create functional dashboards based on business requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Execute quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights.
  • Establish expertise in designing new dashboards using best practices and intuitive visualization and in identifying the right metrics and layout and develops functional dashboards based on business requirements.
  • Participate in innovation and creativity while also ensuring a fine balance between overall time to market, costs, performance, scalability, and long-term technology stability of analytics solutions.
  • Be involved in the thought leadership on new paradigm shifts in architectural and design patterns and guides on their adoption in new and existing software product ecosystem.
  • Identify, adopt, and define new patterns, standards, and processes and ensure their appropriate adoption and solutions development.
  • Contribute/define/enforce design and coding related standards, technology, and tool selections and define new data collection and analysis processes.
  • Analyze reports and identify potential improvement areas and manage bugs to troubleshoot the reporting environment.
  • Keep abreast on latest technology architecture trends through continuous learning.
  • Learn the business and domain/functional use cases to be able to architect and design right solutions for business needs.
  • Own the knowledge capture and transfer of under-the-hood systems such as various architectural and design aspects and ensure they are well documented to maintain and enhance the overall system integrity.
  • Identify metrics and implement methods to understand customer needs and sentiments to improve their efficiency and performance through active development.
  • Ensure to deliver user-friendly analytics insights by improving and adapting through continuous solutions delivery, through active feedback from customers and stakeholders.
  • Understand the customers, their business value of their products and overall offering and demonstrate strong customer centricity and service excellence for both internal stakeholders, peers, and customers.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with data management, analytics, and insights in systems within scope of responsibility.
  • 3-5 years of experience in SAP (or similar system).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (Report creation, DAX, Power Query and data modeling), Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot, DAX, advanced formula usage, etc.), and SQL scripting helpful.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience within the Transportation and/or Trade functions a large plus.
  • A results-oriented professional with strong common sense and superior business acumen.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Power Bi Data Flows) to improve processes and reduce manual touch points.
  • Ability and desire to explore data repositories and make intuitive deductions on how they connect.
  • The ability to be recognized as an independent and respected advisor, and ability to work in a complex, matrixed structure where cooperation is often gained through influence rather than through direct command.
  • Independent decision-making ability.
  • Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships.
  • A change agent with an eye for process improvement.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
