Job Summary:
Equinix Metal, a leading bare metal cloud provider, is seeking a Data Center Technician/Engineer within the Metal Data Center Operations team. Joining our operations team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our customers.

Responsibilities:
Remote Vendor Management: Collaborate with third party partners to ensure the availability of necessary equipment.
Creating clear and concise SOWs (Scope of Work) for third party vendor work.
Remote Site Management: Collaborate with Equinix Smart-Hands Teams in our unmanned locations to ensure the availability of necessary equipment & network. Build and maintain strong working relationships with Technicians & Site Management.
Work with our network and systems engineering teams to turn up new Data Center locations and incremental rack-level infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting physical server hardware and network devices.
Fix and resolve problems with basic network and operating system installations and configurations. This will include managing and updating the ticketing system in a timely fashion.
Responsible for first response and proper escalation of Data Center events that relate to power, network, or cooling.
Qualifications:
The experience in technical project management, preferably in Data Center Operations.
In-depth knowledge of Data Center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems.
Familiarity with Data Center best practices and industry standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose
innovative solutions.Strong decision-making and critical-thinking abilities.
Compliance and Security: Familiarity with Data Center compliance requirements, security protocols, and risk management practices.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements.
