Merama’s mission is to become the best and largest online group of brands in Latin America. Our business model consists of partnering with leading merchants across Latin America (focusing on Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, and Chile). We’re a young company with more than 300 people around LATAM and USA with 17 different nationalities. and, with our team, capital, and technology, fueling additional hypergrowth. Unlike the dozens of Amazon aggregators that have popped up over the past few years, Merama is solely focused on Latin America, partners with very few merchants, and does not purchase companies outright. Instead, Merama identifies and partners with the top few companies in specific major categories and selectively buys a stake in their business. Our company was founded in early 2021 by entrepreneurs and former consultants, marketers, logistics professionals, and e-commerce experts. We recently announced our Series B fundraising of US$225m, and we seek to change the e-commerce landscape in LatAm.

Our Team
The FP&A team is responsible for the overall financial planning and analysis in Merama. We lead the budgeting and forecasting process, analyze the performance, and provide insightful information that helps the company make the best decisions. We work closely with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities and mitigate risks, helping to deliver our financial targets while meeting business process and governance requirements.

Role for You
You are passionate about producing financial analysis that enables breakthrough decisions. You are comfortable with the detail but are also able to connect it to the big picture and communicate the story behind the numbers. You work as a Business Controller who drives processes, ensures compliance, and creates value.

Main Responsibilities

• Financial modelling and reporting, leading P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Forecast
• Work closely with Merama’s companies and internal teams across different geographies to develop strategies and implement for each market
• Partner with accounting team to deliver the monthly closing process
• Provide necessary analytics to highlight key business performance drivers
• Identify ing risks and opportunities throughout the quarter on a monthly basis , providing recommendations and helping develop processes to mitigate risks while capitalizing on opportunities
• Consolidate and prepare management reporting and communicate results to the global product team , clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook as needed to deliver business goals
• Support the leadership team with insights and analysis to deliver operational and cash flow targets, driving profitable growth
• Monitor and implement compliance with controls and systems
• Develop best practices , identifying areas of improvement to drive value and work with the team to operationalize them and streamline rituals and routines.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Minimum of 1 or 2 years of experience in FP&A
• Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills; ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analyses
• Expert in Excel and Financial Modeling
• Advanced/Fluent English.
• Ability to work with teams across functions
• Ability to execute across multiple priorities independently & decisively
• Ability to adjust to varying priorities in a dynamic environment, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• High Energy, self-starter, extremely organized, and disciplined.

Desirable qualifications:

• Strong process management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
• Experience with BI
