Global Travel (GT) is one of the most dynamic markets in which Diageo operates with over 1.9B consumers traveling internationally per year from every corner of the Earth. Our innovation team plays a central role within our business by translating penetration consumer insights into winning product launches. They combine creative flair with strategic consumer insight, commerciality and strong project management skills to deliver innovations that impact consumers across the World.

We are on a mission to double the size of the Spirits Category in Global Travel, double our luxury business (becoming the biggest in Diageo Globally), transform our Digital and E-Commerce capability and be the leading Diageo channel for retail activations. About you

  • The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience and great examples of groundbreaking delivery in roles in sales and customer marketing.
  • They will be commercially astute with a passion for driving the total performance of their part of our business.
  • They will be competent managing a P&L, have strong analytical skills and strong understanding of the key drivers of a value chain.
  • Evidence of thriving in a highly ambiguous environment at pace, balancing multiple project is a major plus.
  • Those highly skilled in fostering great effective relationships both internally and externally, in person and remotely will excel in this role.

Key Outcomes:

You will be responsible for leading the Commercialisation of our key Innovations our key brands within Global Travel. The successful candidate will;

  • Lead the commercialisation and delivery of Innovation projects including ensuring every project is grounded in strong customer, consumer and shopper insight and has a P&L that supports all these key stakeholders.
  • Inspire our commercial teams and our customers with our innovation agenda – the pipeline you build in partnership with the Innovation Managers will be rooted in customer, consumer and market insights. Our customer propositions and brand playbooks will not just secure a listing but thrill customers and shoppers alike.
  • Achieve best in class launches – our execution will be the envy of our peers – we are called out as best in class. You will work with a cross-functional team of Brand, Innovation, Customer Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply to lead excellent launch and nurture plans. You will build the distribution plan in partnership with the marketing and commercial teams to ensure we are present wherever our target consumers are present.
  • Own the performance management of the projects once they are launched to maximise their impact on our business, making interventions when needed and ensure we deliver our AOP. You will own the SO&P process to ensure accurate forecasting and supply of the products to deliver optimal availability.

The successful candidate will have the following functional abilities;

  • Able to navigate a P&L expertly to drive value creation for Diageo and our customers at the right consumer price point
  • Develops strategies and plans (Commercial and Marketing) that beat the competition
  • Inspires and engages others to deliver breakthroughs and brilliant execution
  • Creative problem solving, finding solutions to problems to ensure we achieve our goals
