We are seeking Item Writers to support the development of academic assessment items aligned with national standards. Item writers will use AI tools to assist in the generation of assessment items across all content areas.
Non-Negotiables:
- Fluency in the written English language
- Fluency with online productivity and collaboration tools
Purpose of Job: Utilize tools and knowledge of assessment practices to develop assessment items for high school courses.
Qualifications:
Experience developing standards-aligned academic assessments and assessment items at the high school level.
Experience working with and adhering to branding/style guides
Knowledge of web accessibility standards
Location: 100% remote, must have a dedicated, quiet workspace with a reliable computer and internet connection. Company hours are based in the Eastern time zone.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of educational assessment practices.
High school teaching experience is preferred.
Major Responsibilities And Duties:
- Perform diligent research, supporting and bolstering personal understanding of the content in order to assess it effectively and thoroughly.
- Write high quality, unique instructional assessment items to help us best serve customers.
- Work with our project managers to ensure submitted work meets required specifications.
- Respond quickly and positively to constructive feedback, making all necessary edits to submitted work.
- Provide weekly updates to demonstrate steady progress.
Pay
This part-time 1099 contract position is paid an hourly rate of $10/hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Timeline
You can expect this work to start immediately. This a temporary position from March through June of 2024.
