Sales Support Engineer, 2-Stroke

 

Wärtsilä Parts and Field Service is now looking for an enthusiasticSales Support Engineerto join our skilled team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL USA or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

What will you be doing?

 

As a Sales Support Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting the Sales team in developing business strategies which drive growth and profitability, support sales performance through providing steady flow of new leads and opportunities and leverage high level customer experience in accordance with the strategy, action plan and business needs. Remote work is available for qualified candidates.

 

This position reports to the General Manager Area Sales.

 

Wärtsilä, a SMART technology company, is seeking the ideal candidate to join our fast- paced, high performance Field Service Operations coordination team (AMER). Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation of sales proposals and supporting presentation material and documents for Spare Parts, Field Service and support B & C class projects where applicable.
  • Determination, review and approval of the calculated margin and proposal risk.
  • Support in presenting and explaining proposals to Customer.
  • Building of sales funnel e.g. through maintenance planning and dry-docking dates.
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external promotion of solutions and success-stories.
  • Consistently and effectively use CRM to document regular sales opportunities/account activity, customer information, opportunity tracking, quotations, account development, sales funnel forecasting, and coordinate required sales activities.
  • Approval of offers within approval guidelines.
  • Use of data and analytics to identify new opportunities and team performance.
  • Manage and maintain internal and external relationships, focused on achieving company targets.
  • Facilitate good collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the delivery chain (Sales, Lifecycle Support, Agreements, Technical Service).
  • Contribute to the annual budget preparation and sales and service forecast evaluations.

 

Main Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or technical university or 5–10 years of equivalent work experience in a technical service-minded organization is desired.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of service, service sales or technical sales of marine diesel engines preferred.
  • Service management skills and/or experience with coordinating service teams is required.
  • Experience within a Mechanical/Maritime environment organization with an international scope is seen as an advantage.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple independent tasks, including but not limited to forecasting and CRM tool management.
  • English language proficiency (Spanish and/or Portuguese considered as plus).
  • A strong ability to work in a team, independent work, innovative thinking and a good understanding of processes are among your personal strengths.

Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the USA or Brazil without sponsorship.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

This position requires a 20% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
