Your Role and Responsibilities
Team Mission The Marketing, Communications and CSR Operations and Transformation (MCC O&T) serves as the operational backbone for MCC, enabling teams to do their best work and deliver business outcomes. We accelerate productivity through automation, measurement, and transparency. We bring together the missions of engagement, governance, insights, investments, learning, operations, and transformation.Within MCC O&T, the Investments Team guides and enables marketers to get more out of every dollar spent. Processes include budget planning, tracking, forecasting, reporting and advising on marketing infrastructure and program expense investments. Job Description: The MCC Investment and Resource Lead is an individual contributor who performs a variety of tactical and strategic responsibilities related to MCC Operations and Investments. They work alongside the Field Operations Leaders and Functional Area Leaders to ensure budgets and resources are invested towards strategic marketing priorities. They also report on individual MCC functional area’s forecasted and actual expenses, which are consolidated to provide the MCC finance team an accurate overall picture of complete MCC spend. Responsibilities of your role include:
- Build a deep understanding of the aligned MCC function(s), their business objectives and how they plan to achieve them. This may include how the team is structured, what program investments are planned and important nuances of working with specific suppliers.
- Forge strong relationships with Functional Area Leaders and aligned Field Operations teams enabling close collaboration on impacts to budgets and forecasted expenses.
- Develop accurate monthly and quarterly expense forecasts outlining how a Functional Area will execute on marketing activities while adhering to released budgets and quarterly allocations.
- Advise on affordability to support strategic decisions on both program spending and resources deployment or as changes occur throughout the year.
- Review and approve program expense requests to ensure they fall within allocated budgets.
- Track and manage budget planning and actual expenses on Budget Management automation platform to ensure all expenses are properly incurred and coded.
- Communicate actual and Budget forecast with function and discipline leaders on regular basis, advising on implications to current plans.
- Work closely with MCC finance during quarter close cycles ensuring MCC meets all targets and obligations.
- Support annual Fall Planning process to ensure MCC is well positioned to deliver upon commitments.
- Act as the champion for Budget Management automation platform with periodic education, best practice sharing and ad-hoc supports to marketing activity owners for quality budget planning and data integrity.
- Actively participate in proactive testing and corporate audit with all identified risk areas improved.
- Work with BC team to provide spending and marketing process guidance to marketing activity owners and assure marketing funds and suppliers are properly managed in line with company integrity requirements.
- Assist in mitigating risk and compliance concerns by following-up with activity owners to ensure IPVNs are validated on-time.
- Become proficient in working with IBM’s Marketing Operation tools including Allocadia, Airtable, Slack, IBM Cognos, BETH, Excel, PowerPoint, Mural, Box and EPM.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Marketing Budget Management, Financial Planning and Analytics, or a related field in the IT industry.
- 3+ years of experience with the Uptempo Allocadia platform.
- Advanced understanding of financial and accounting principles and Budgeting methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and senior leadership.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with business control, compliance, and corporate auditing is a plus.
