We would like to get in contact with potential candidates that fit the requirements for the position of Terminal Manager Vopak Terminal Linkeroever. You manage the terminal organization (employees, processes and assets) in line with and following BU Belgium plans and policies. Aim is to achieve an excellent safety and service standard and track record in the short and long term.
The Terminal Manager reports hierarchically to the Vice President Operations & Technology Belgium. He/she will be part of the Belgium MT Plus and the Operations & Technology team.
Your role as Terminal Manager
Safety / Service / Flawless execution / External contacts
● Ensure the safe execution of all terminal activities and work on continuous improvement of the safety performance around hardware, software and mindware.
● Initiate and implement SHEQ policies and programs, meeting local and global legal and SHEQ standards and requirements. Work closely with the Belgium SHEQ & Sustainability Manager.
● Together with the Vice President Operations & Technology and HR team ensure an effective organization. Stimulate leadership and the behavior of well-motivated and equipped personnel with focus on first time right execution.
● Develop and implement the operational strategy, plans and budgets in line with the business strategy of Vopak Belgium. Actively steers the operational business performance according to these plans and budgets through a.o. KPI’s and reports.
● Contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of operational policies and systems for Vopak Belgium.
● Manage all operational, service and maintenance activities required for smooth ‘arrival-to-departure’, order-to-cash’ and ‘maintain-to-operate’ processes. This includes direct responsibility for the operational 24/7 shifts and the operational day shift.
● Monitor and actively steer service level developments and ensure follow up of customer complaints in line with customers’ expectations and commercial contracts.
● Initiate, contribute and monitor Sustaining Capex programs in close cooperation with the Technical & Engineering Manager to guarantee optimal and safe use of assets, now and in the future.
● Contribute to the Linkeroever masterplan in close cooperation with the Belgium Commercial & BD and Finance teams, geared towards achieving the full potential of the terminal.
● Develop and maintain a constructive working relationship with public authorities, work council, associations and service providers / suppliers.
We are looking for someone who has:
● Bachelor or Master degree.
● Minimal 5-10 years experience in an operational management role.
● Proven Safety leadership and service mindedness.
● Entrepreneurial, energetic personality, initiative, self-motivated.
● Focus on continuous improvement and disciplined execution.
● Excellent leadership skills, directing performance, ability to connect with all levels in the organization.
● Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
● Able to communicate effectively, both in Dutch and English.
