Job Description: Unix and Cloud Security Specialist (AWS)
Location: Mumbai
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Unix and Cloud Security Specialist with expertise in AWS to join our dynamic IT security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix/Linux systems, Cloud Security best practices, and hands-on experience with AWS services. This role will involve implementing, managing, and monitoring security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure and Unix-based systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Security (AWS):
- Design and implement security solutions within AWS.
- Monitor AWS environments for security breaches and respond to incidents.
- Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and industry standards.
- Manage IAM (Identity and Access Management) roles and policies.
- Implement and manage encryption solutions for data at rest and in transit.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of AWS environments.
- Work with DevOps teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline.
Administer and secure Unix/Linux servers.
- Implement and manage security policies, firewalls, and access controls.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply patches and updates.
- Monitor Unix systems for security incidents and respond appropriately.
- Develop and maintain security scripts and tools.
- Ensure system compliance with organizational security standards.
General Security Duties:
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Conduct regular security training and awareness programs for staff.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technology.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to enhance overall security posture.
- Prepare and present security reports to management.
- Participate in incident response planning and exercises.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT security.
- Strong experience with AWS security services (e.g., AWS Shield, AWS WAF, AWS GuardDuty, AWS CloudTrail).
- Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and security practices.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Proven experience in incident response and forensics.
