About the role
 

Responsible for purchasing processes in accordance with established internal procedures, being in direct contact with distributors and partners, taking a strategic view of the business using performance data and market research, and always seeking the best results when contracting content. The Content Buyer will make sure all internal records and rights tracking is up to date and made available to the wider team.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Reviewing performance data and sharing with the team
  • Using performance data to inform decision-making on content renewals
  • Assisting in updating and maintaining the content budget for Playkids and Sandbox Kids
  • Performing negotiations of commercial terms for new content agreements and renewals (rev share and fixed fee) with our annual budget in mind
  • Drafting and finalising commercial agreements
  • Management of licensed content partner contracts within SBX Kids internal management systems
  • Prospecting licensed content suppliers and new content based on company needs, with the intent of improving our offering.
  • Contributing effectively to the evaluation of the construction of new business models together with the areas, to lower costs
  • Regularly analysing and comparing costs of the licensed content contracts and where applicable presenting strategy proposals for cost reduction
  • Revenue share reporting
  • Managing and monitoring the transfer of payments to licensed content partners.

What you´ll need to succeed in this role:
 

  • Experience: 3 years in an acquisitions or sales role
  • Soft Skills: Proactive, negotiation skills, problem-solving approach, communication skills, autonomy, critical thinking, calm under pressure, networking, collaborative, time management skills, organisational skills, attention to detail
  • Analysing and drawing conclusions from performance data
  • Knowledge of the TV/SVOD industry and its business models
  • Negotiating favourable terms for new content deals
  • Drafting licensing agreements and reviewing legal contracts
  • Financial planning using an allocated budget
  • Forecasting budgets based on data
  • Connecting with and maintaining strong relationships with partners and clients
  • Revenue share reporting
  • An interest in the Kids TV industry and its content
  • Problem-solving approach
