Pay Philosophy

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Cybersecurity Manager to join our Global Network Communications Content, Application, Perimeter Security Engineering team.

Directs the tower wide developers, cybersecurity engineers and Agile leads in the evaluation, development, implementation, communication, operation, monitoring, and maintenance procedures that promote a secure and uninterrupted operation and ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of systems.

Provides strategy and support to clients, IT management and staff in risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products.

Hires and manages internal team of people; coaches, counsels, and develops team members. Leads offshore supplemental team in driving improvements and maximizing value. Works with individuals to develop performance measures and growth plans, aligned with organizational goals and values. Evaluates team and individual performance, makes compensation and promotion recommendations. Drives positive outcomes through accountability, successfully navigating challenging situations and having difficult conversations. Forms strong relationships and partnerships across the organization, works with vendors and VARS, to collaboratively drive outcomes based on business value.

Provides high-level technical leadership in risk assessments, implementation and operational aspects of information security procedures and products. Works with others to report, investigate, resolve incidents, identifying ways to prevent re-occurrence comes naturally. Leverages internal audit support mechanisms, reviews findings, responses, and helps to drive remediation efforts. Maintains current knowledge of security standards, trends, and regulations. Promotes the development of communications and supports all related awareness campaigns for information security awareness among all staff. Responsible for the development and implementation of security standards, procedures and guidelines across multiple platforms and environments. Performs due diligence fiscally, ensuring that spending aligns with business requirements and value. Performs related duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and consensus building skills.
  • Five or more years of experience in security operations, administration, networks, IT operations, and maintenance in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, management or technology or equivalent knowledge.
  • Strong employee and team management experience
  • Knowledge of change control, incident management and problem resolution and using it to ensure the highest reliability, security, and availability of services.
  • Working knowledge with ServiceNow a plus.
  • High-level knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention and development practices (secure development, automation, coding, code-signing and so forth).
  • Deep knowledge of at least one of the above security services or other relevant security services (WAF/CDN, load balancing, certificates management for encryption/code-signing, database activity monitoring).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with Scrum Masters and Product Owners.
  • Experience managing Agile leads is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors partners and Value-Added Resellers is a plus.
  • Experience managing internal teams augmented by external consultants is a plus.
  • CISSP, SANS or other widely recognized security certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with or knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
