Director of Sales

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, Netherlands

We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Sales to oversee hotel sales strategies at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for growth strategies, closely tracking progress, and ensuring the hotel maintains a competitive edge in the local/international market.

What will I be doing?

As the Director of Sales, your primary role entails collaborating closely with the Senior Management Team and General Manager to fulfill business requirements and enhance existing business via promotional initiatives and diverse sales channels. You will lead efforts to cultivate the sales department and nurture a top-tier sales team. Your responsibilities will include executing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Managing hotel sales strategies to effectively target all market segments while supporting overall business goals.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Management Team to identify and prioritize activities requiring additional attention.
  • Crafting company contracts in line with prevailing business and pricing conditions.
  • Monitoring offers and options for repeat group bookings, in coordination with the Group Department.
  • Cultivating your team's growth through leadership and exemplary conduct, including participation in recruitment efforts.
  • Directing and overseeing the forecasting process in collaboration with the Revenue Department to ensure the provision of accurate and timely information.
  • Compiling reports related to sales department operations, such as annual and monthly forecasts, lead management systems, and booking reports.
  • Actively participating in the formulation of annual sales plans, executing outlined initiatives swiftly, and adapting strategies in response to market dynamics or competition.
  • Recommending, implementing, and monitoring local sales and marketing activities to support company initiatives.
  • Providing comprehensive information about hotel products and services through relevant sales resources and channels to both existing and potential guests.
  • Generating accurate and timely reports to meet the hotel's and management company's requirements.
  • Presenting the proactive sales team's monthly contributions, focus, and activities to hotel owners and senior management.
  • Collaborating with other hotel departments, particularly Reservations and Operations, to enhance the guest experience and develop robust sales programs.
  • Participating in management meetings to contribute to the development and implementation of Sales and marketing strategies.

Salary and benefits: The compensation package will be discussed during the interview.

Start date: Effective April 2024, although the specific starting date can be negotiated.

Location:Director of Sales should be based in the Netherlands
