Geospatial Data Analyst
Manipulate geospatial datasets in ArcGIS/QGIS/relevant mapping software.
Ability to analyze the components of a shapefile and other standardized formats to check data quality.
Recognize the appropriate data projection for datasets based on location and standards.
Evaluate geospatial datasets for timeliness, quality and accuracy.
Search for open source geospatial base map datasets and assess their quality.
Answer questions from geospatial data providers using sector knowledge and customer service.
Use mapping tools and GIS expertise to continuously improve mapping accuracy and edits.
Ability to work autonomously and solve problems with minimal supervision.
Analyze cartographic data and make policy-based decisions to complete cartographic workflows.
Maintain geospatial documentation to ensure that partners and stakeholders are informed of the necessary standards and schemes.
Providing quantitative and qualitative information on mapping processes as part of a post-project analysis or in-depth study.
Implement quality control tools and answer the main quality questions about workflows.
Enter essential mapping metadata and other information as requested, with high accuracy.
Handle complex and time-sensitive geospatial data modeling issues.
Proactively identify and raise systemic issues with tools or processes.
Skills and experience required:
Experience in evaluating, manipulating and modifying third-party geospatial datasets to create an alignment.
Knowledge of GIS data processing, including courses and/or previous work in ArcGIS, QGIS.
Advanced English (reading, speaking and writing)
