The Engineering Manager serves as the leader for Analysis (Structural, Thermal) and Automation (NX) needs for the Aerospace Mechanical Components portfolio of products including proposals, design and development, qualification, service introduction and field issue resolutions. Accountable for end-to-end delivery of analysis and automation assuring that they are executed on schedule, on budget, and in compliance with the quality requirements. Work closely with external eco-system partners from universities and suppliers to drive collaboration on product and technology development.

Responsibilities include providing functional oversight to all programs, developing and implementing talent strategies, people development, culture, technical leadership coaching, employee engagement and driving diversity and inclusion. This position will work closely with both Mechanical Components and Mechanical Design Leadership teams to execute the programs while creating and implementing a transformational burning platform strategy to dramatically reduce cycle time and cost, and improve Honeywell’s competitiveness in the marketplace.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead mechanical analysis (structural, thermal) and automation engineering teams at system and component level with proper coordination with peer leaders within Aerospace Mechanical Systems and Components Strategic Business Unit, suppliers, and customers including aircraft OEMs.
  • Possess hands on experience designing large mechanical systems and components for aerospace applications.
    Must have good understanding of CAD tools (NX, NXOpen, Ansys workbench/hypermesh), programming languages (C#, Python) and Teamcenter.
  • Experience on developing the Guide Files and Applications through Automation for reducing the design cycle time.
  • Experience in Static, Fatigue, Vibration analysis of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. Must have exposure to Thermal Analysis (Static, Transient and Conjugate).
  • Experience in driving university relation activities and executing collaborative research projects at universities.
  • Leverages the Mechanical Components portfolio – especially on the electromagnetic interface devices, Valves, Motors, Heat Exchangers and Air Turbine Starters.
  • Responsible for defining and executing Automation & Analysis initiatives to achieve overall development objectives within budget and schedule constraints and in compliance with requirements.
  • Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives utilizing demonstrated experience in the design, and development of complex mechanical systems and components.
  • Continually reviews engineering projects, and the adequacy of plans, incentives and controls. Reports performance and results on a regular basis to the stakeholders
  • Approves technical content, technical commitments, deliverable, and associated cost and schedule for all activities (internal or external).
  • Responsible for technical decision making, including, without limitation, coordinating technical requirements with relevant stakeholders, customers, and advising leadership and customers on all technical aspects and issues to achieve all technical requirements.
  • Should be an evangelist of Growth and Innovation. Should front end the team in leveraging the new growth ideation for Mechanical Components
  • Partnering with program management, develops and implements a Management Operating System to drive effective communication, interfacing, and execution of tasks & responsibilities across the cross-functional organization.
  • Creates an environment where individual and team accomplishments are valued and rewarded. Intellectually challenges using innovation and creativity.  
  • Travel within India and/ or internationally may be required

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor / Master degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with 14+ years of relevant engineering experience in Analysis and Automation of Mechanical Components

  • Able to identify the critical few issues on any effort and drive them to resolution to assure success.
  • Skilled in leading and communicating across multiple functions and organizational levels. Able to communicate effectively from the individual contributor level to the Executive Leadership level.
