Offer Senior Manager - Sustainable Food & Nature Solutions

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Climate & Sustainability (C&S) is a fast-growing Practice Area and a driving force for BCG’s ambition to become the most positively impactful company in the world. As an Offer Senior Manager, you’ll be a direct contributor to achieving this ambition.

BCG has a holistic and differentiated approach to help our clients build Sustainability as Advantage, spanning 1) defining their ambition, strategy and roadmap 2) making the core sustainable 3) building new sustainable businesses and 4) enabling the transformation – to deliver business value and social & environmental impact. Climate & Sustainability at BCG is organized around 5 Topics: C&S Transformation, Sustainable Operations, Green Business Build, Nature, Food & Agriculture and Decarbonization Solutions. These Topics are responsible for building expertise, insights and tools in their respective domains across industries, creating commercial offers in collaboration with sectors, and building the teams and capabilities to deliver on these offers.

We are seeking a strong candidate to join the BCG Climate & Sustainability PA Management & Operations team, working with the Nature, Food & Agriculture Topic Leader, in close collaboration with other C&S Topics but also with connected industries such as Consumer, IG and SI.

As an Offer Senior Manager, you will be leading and coordinating the further buildup of the Nature, Food & Agriculture topic and its offerings. This includes a range of Product Management activities to support the development of our Nature, Food & Agriculture business such as:

• Strategic planning, analysis and reporting. Support Topic leader in formulating Topic strategy, translate strategic priorities into actions and liaise with and influence key stakeholders across the PA and BCG, put in place relevant KPIs and help track business progress.
• IP/Product Development. In collaboration with respective product leads, experts and knowledge teams, drive the development of functional products: Future of Farming / Regenerative Agriculture (Upstream & Downstream), Nature Positive Strategy, Alternative Proteins, Agriculture Development (SI), Water Strategy.
• Cross-PA collaboration: build strong linkages to all other C&S Topics and adjacent PAs, like OPS, BCG.X, SI, to bring the best of BCG into cross-functional products. Proactively seek opportunities to co-develop products, thought leadership or expertise with Sustainable Operations Topic.
• Sector GTM support: support CON, IG and FI (and potentially other IPAs), working closely with their C&S Nodes and Business Development Managers, to integrate above defined products in their sector-specific commercial offering and bring them to market, through specific campaigns and go-to-market initiatives.
• Prioritization and Backlog Management: help Topic Leader and subtopics leads align on priorities based on the plan and manage the backlog of activities to support the development of the Nature, Food & Agriculture topic. Collect feedback from sectors and CCOs to identify challenges and gaps (e.g. in expertise, capabilities) and feed Topic priorities.
• Capability build: Monitor recruiting and affiliation activities to build the pyramid(s) required to sell and execute Climate & Sustainability projects, esp. in Nature, Food & Agriculture related topics. Activate a global a network of product owners and local nodes. Drive initiatives to increase fluency on the products and support enablement of BCG teams, jointly with C&S People team, IPA teams, Knowledge Team.
• Marketing, Communication & Seat at the Table (SATT). Together with the leadership team and marketing teams, define plan to make BCG expertise in the Nature, Food & Agriculture field visible internally and externally, orchestrate the ecosystem of experts and knowledge team to deliver against it. Plan includes ambitious SATT agenda with our various partners (WBCSD, WWF SBTN…).
• Governance. Support the Topic leadership team in setting up and orchestrating the right governance, prepare and animate the regular meetings / calls associated to it.

As part of the Product Management BCG community, you will work closely with your Topic team within C&S PA but also with fellow Offer Management colleagues within the Offer Team, to contribute to the testing / refining and exchange of best practices across the functional community.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Successful candidates will feel comfortable operating across intersections of BCG’s matrix organization, in a "start-up mode" with a high degree of ownership and a ‘can-do-attitude’, have strong relationship and project management skills, the aptitude to see and hold the big picture, yet also manage the details. Comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities and eagerness to lean in to support team/projects when needed, are also pre-requisites.

In particular, successful candidates will show the following abilities:

• Self-starting with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, service mentality and ability to work both autonomously and in a multinational team
• Orchestrate complex agendas, align senior leadership, prioritize activities, and work with others to get things done (in a distributed organization)
• Manage and execute projects efficiently; provide hands-on support to multiple activities, often requiring strong consulting skills (slides writing, effective communication, some analytics, …)
• Develop and maintain deep and productive relationships across a multi-stakeholder organization
• Collaborate and communicate with various teams and individuals, with different level of seniority in different geographies and with different background; be able to communicate with senior leaders and be a connection point for the community.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• Master’s Degree Preferred
• 8-10 years of relevant experience (incl. Climate & Sustainability, Product/Offer management, consulting, Food & Ag industry)
• Previous experience in BCG is a plus, ideally in a Project Leader, Senior KT or BST manager roles
• High motivation and interest for the topic is a must
• Excellent command of the English language
• Strong work ethic, service-mentality, autonomous and self-starter
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, operate effectively in a matrix organization and a fast-paced environment, proactively manage expectations
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to influence senior members of BCG, credibility, strong interpersonal skills
• Collaborative team player, ability to maintain discretion when needed

Our business management and operations team members work to ensure that BCG is running smoothly, efficiently, and productively. We are made up of executive and administrative (or case team) assistants, visual service artists, receptionists, facilities staff, and the team leaders and office coordinators who manage these operations and business management jobs.
