An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and international-minded department at Lalamove, we are now seeking a seasoned safety, security and operational risk leader to join our team as Senior Manager, Safety . Reporting to the Director, Corporate Affairs, the recruit will participate in the planning and execution of all activities related to safety for both existing operations, as well as new markets.
What you'll do:- Responsible for both short and long-term planning, as well as development and administrations of corporate policies and procedures, to ensure operational safety of our business.
- Anticipate safety challenges/obstacles the business could face and proactively develop the right structure and execution plans to address them.
- Continuous process improvement; use the right metrics to measure standards quality and opportunities.
- Advise and provide support to executive management on a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities in order to identify and analyze areas of safety vulnerability and risk
- Coordinating with other functions and cities, and external agencies, to ensure our safety goals as a company are met
- Continuous learning and updating company on knowledge of public policy, new measures and activities.
- Close coordination with other entities under our group, so that best practices can be shared in a timely manner.
- Assist Director, Corporate Affairs to engage different stakeholders such as government authorities, non-governmental organisations, business chambers, etc. to promote exchange of views, build consensus on issues and explore partnerships
- Report to Director, Corporate Affairs and undertake any other assignments as instructed
- Proven experience in managing operation safety, especially in terms of setting up structures and practices for a global company.
- Practical. While we take operation safety seriously, we need to avoid people who 'take advantage of' safety, to the extent of limiting the growth of business unnecessarily.
- Stakeholder management. Not only with our functions and market operations, but also with external regulatory bodies and government.
- Self-driven: you are naturally an overachiever and want to get things done, with excellent organizational skills, integrity and follow through. You are up for the challenge of ensuring our ever expanding business is well run and thriving
- Degree from a reputable university
- Minimum 8 years experience in Safety and Operations Risk capacity
- Proven experience in obtaining participation and engagement from colleagues on safety and security issues
- Sound knowledge of and expertise in Safety and Security laws and regulations as well as industry best practices
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills and leadership ability to advocate for behavioural change, ability to gain acceptance of ideas and plan systems, policies and procedures
- You are ready, willing and able to work in a fast growing, constantly evolving scaleup.
- You are comfortable operating fast and efficiently with minimal instructions.
- Natural tendency and desire to ensure the entire company’s success
- Excellent communicator, energetic and strong presentation skills in small group settings or in front of a large audience
- Fluent in English is a must, and Mandarin would be a plus
- Candidates with less but relevant experience will be considered for Manager level position
