Job Purpose and Impact

The Sustainability Manager will lead a team to develop, implement and optimize the assigned formal sustainability programs and processes related to social and environmental commitments, and regulations and serve customers across assigned regions, areas, or facilities. In this role, your team will be accountable for compliance under voluntary, national and international schemes used to qualify the organization's products for customers. You will be a member of the sustainability team working closely with the commercial and supply teams to serve both suppliers and customers to ensure commercial optimization of the organization's products. You will advise commercial and supply chain teams and lead supply chain sustainability at every step. You will work closely with several areas of Cargill globally engage external organizations to advance sustainability frameworks and engage, educate and influence internal and external stakeholders to execute on the company's purpose to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. 

Position only open for Brazil - São Paulo. 
You must be available to live in São Paulo.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop sustainability strategy and tactics for the assigned group, business and major supply chains or for the assigned sustainability topic area.
  • Develop and implement supply chain policy, strategies and action plans in an integrated operating company approach.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to deploy strategies to gain value from sustainability with a variety of customers.
  • Lead the communication on sustainability policies and objectives to suppliers and customers with the purpose of the extension of our supply chain policies and requirements through our suppliers.
  • Lead the team to identify and work with external partners like nongovernmental organizations, foundations, universities and government offices for program design, implementation, securing additional funding and project work, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop, maintain and apply industry standards expertise in sustainability as it applies to the relevant supply chains, sustainability topic area or geographies.
  • Represent the company in external senior level stakeholder forums and media for matters related to sustainability.
  • Oversee database systems management and interpretation of the data, quality of data input into the systems and creation of innovative methods of monitoring traceability of the supply chain and report information and data for compliance.
  • Own the budget forecast, tracking and reporting for the team.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Solid and proven years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
  • Advanced English level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical knowledge in environmental, economic, and social benefits of sustainable development 
  • Experience in identifying customer needs and developing solutions.
  • Knowledge of current supply chain regulations such as EUDR and CSDDD, traceability and deforestation monitoring systems such as Prodes and Global Forest Watch.
  • Experience working in a global fast paced environment
