About the Role

The Web Content Specialist will be the go-to resource for managing, monitoring and optimizing BusinessWire.com . As the primary content management system (CMS) administrator, you will keep the website's content current, accurate, and findable, and will implement strategies for search optimization and user experience enhancements. You will utilize quantitative and qualitative measurement methods to demonstrate the achievement of objectives, design strategies, and tactics in response to metrics for continuous improvement. We expect this individual to play an integral role in the upcoming redesign and restructuring of a modernized BusinessWire.com in partnership with internal and external resources.

You have a firm understanding of and belief in the art and science of digital marketing. You are someone who gets excited about diving into the data, are curious about user behavior and UX trends, and can identify areas of opportunities to drive growth. As a key Marketing team member, your role will involve cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, and staying updated on evolving tools and processes. Overall success will require a strong understanding of the user journeys on our website as well as the ability to identify growth opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, and nurture. This is an opportunity to influence and manage the most visible online destination of Business Wire that directly impacts the growth of the business.

You will be expected to help identify opportunities for improvement and implement new search engine marketing, search engine optimization, and website strategies and tactics to build Business Wire's brand presence while driving lead generation opportunities and conversion rate optimization. You will have a deep understanding of content management systems and digital publishing. You will also have strong knowledge of and passion for the intersection of content, design, and user experience.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to help build a fully revamped BusinessWire.com that will best meets visitors’ needs, balancing conversion rate optimization with user experience and long-term brand engagement.
  • Maintain BusinessWire.com through content management system and serve as a messaging, style, and content structure resource.
  • Help guide and execute the website strategy for driving lead generation growth and supporting key business goals.
  • Lead the implementation, visualization, and analysis from Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot, and other tools. Gather, analyze, and apply relevant user data/insights to evolve our strategy and approach.
  • Clearly understand the marketing and sales funnel to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate and strategize with internal and external teams to identify opportunities to support lead generation, nurture, and conversion.
  • Work with external SEO experts to develop and implement effective SEO strategies to improve website rankings in search engine results. Monitor and improve SEO performance using keyword research, technical infrastructure improvements, and more.
  • Conduct content audits, manage A/B testing, deploy strategic personalization, and optimize content to improve the customer journey.
  • Define and drive a process for ongoing site QA, content refreshes and the removal of outdated content. Create best practices for building and managing web pages across multiple languages and lead the training for any new CMS users.
  • Collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building and managing productive partnerships.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, competitor messaging, and customer challenges.

What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in website management and content marketing, with a strong track record for optimization. B2B marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of recent WordPress CMS management experience is mandatory.
  • Advanced understanding of HTML, CSS, content management systems, digital content development, information architecture, search engine optimization, web analytics, and accessibility.
  • Deep understanding of integrated technologies including GA4, Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Tag Manager, Optimizely, and others.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing Web Content. Content writing and editing skills are a big plus.
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO) practices through identification of user behavior trends and strategy implementation to enhance conversion rates.
  • Experience in SEO, keyword research, and optimization.
  • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills with the ability to take ownership of initiatives.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, confidently providing insights and recommendations based on strong research and analysis.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously to accomplish objectives and evaluate results.

What We Offer The base salary range for this position is $80K to $105K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
