The HR Director, Business Partner for Animal Health (MAH) Latin America is responsible for strategic HR support to the VP, Latin America and his leadership team and reports to the Vice President Human Resources, Animal Health. The Latin America HR partner will be responsible for shaping and executing on the people, leadership and culture strategies to support the overall business objectives. This includes consultative engagement and coaching to the leader and his leadership team, providing expertise in the development of the organizational talent and diversity strategy, talent management, workforce planning, organizational design, restructuring, business development, change management, leader effectiveness, performance management, compensation and rewards, and escalated employee relations issues. This position is responsible for the regional talent strategy for the business, and guides and influences in-country HR Business Partners throughout the region to execute against the strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic HR and executive coaching support to senior leaders and their teams.
- Facilitate a strong culture of leadership and employee engagement across the region. Drive culture change and team effectiveness strategies.
- As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, contribute to business strategy by helping leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes that support achievement of business goals.
- Support divisional M&A initiatives as needed, including both supporting pre-deal due diligence activities and leading HR activities to accelerate the integration process. Support due diligence and integration planning of business development activities as required.
- Lead client restructuring and organizational change management activities as needed.
- Coach leaders and members of senior leadership team(s) to successfully manage all cyclical people management processes (talent management, succession planning, performance management, compensation planning, etc.).
- Identify and provide competitive intelligence to enable the business to attract, develop and retain strong talent.
- Guide a team of HRBPs; coach and develop HRBPs in support of a high performing HR team.
- Engage with COEs (Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Talent, D&I, etc.) to develop and execute solutions that enable the division’s talent strategy within the region, partnering with the MAH HR Leadership Team to optimize resources and deploy enterprise solutions when possible.
- Manage projects as determined in the annual HR priorities and contribute to functional and multifunctional initiatives.
- Analyze trends and people metrics to provide guidance on workforce productivity, retention and engagement. Identify actionable insights and provide visibility to issues that may require attention or intervention.
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline, or currently in pursuit of degree completion, or equivalent relevant work experience
Experience:
Solid experience as an HR Business Partner.
Skills/Competencies:
- Demonstrated HR leadership as an HR partner
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data to identify opportunities, build a strategy and business case and lead execution
- Demonstrated HR functional competence in one or more HR disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, consult with and coach senior leaders and managers
- People management experience preferred, ability to lead through influence a virtual team
- Ability to strategically prioritize time and problem solve against most impactful activities and initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to demonstrate and foster collaboration among peers and extended HR organization
- Change Catalyst and change management
- Strong emotional intelligence and maturity
Preferred Competencies
- Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in organization development such as organization design, change management, workforce planning
- Experience leading talent aspects of organization transformation
- Knowledge of the Animal Health business / industry, or demonstrated learning agility and passion for the business
- Knowledge of employment legal practices and policies
