Position Summary:
The Primary responsibility for this position is to ensure Monster Energy is receiving the best value options for all Co-Packing, raw materials,
and supply chain services along with securing supply and capacity to fit with the company's strategies for designated geographies.
Procurement involves the process of selecting vendors, establishing payment terms, strategic vetting, selection, the negotiation of contracts,
Capex Projects, and actual purchasing of goods. Procurement is concerned with acquiring (procuring) all materials and services. Implement
strategies to directly impact the companies P & L, and work within the operations operating model to affect the lowest landed cost in a
positive way.
Essential Job Functions:
- Negotiate and execute high level commercial terms. Lead contract reviews in all stages, including discussions with Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations, Quality, NPD and/or Copacker and monitor contracts for secondary packaging and co-manufacturing across the region.
- Create and/or review Business Cases. Reach internal and external alignment with cross functional stakeholders.
- Analyze Raw Material, Packaging, and Co-Pack fees to ensure the company is getting the best possible cost. Establish new vendor programs and partnerships to obtain the best possible pricing. Negotiate pricing and agreement terms with vendors and submit pricing for approval.
- Understand industry trends in beverage, co-manufacturing, and commodities. Maintain and share regional market knowledge with HQ (Macroeconomics, import/export restrictions, incidents, situations, etc.).
- Monitor Copacker operations regularly to detect potential risks and ensure that obligations/duties are met. Initiate cost efficiency projects and modeling with copackers and suppliers. Build long term relationships that manage pricing, service, and quality.
- Establish sourcing strategies that maintain reliable supply of procured materials and services. Maintain recurring meetings with key vendors and identify and develop opportunities for better prices and service.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field preferred.
- +5 years of experience with a CPG company (beverage industry preferred) in Procurement Management.
- 3-5 years of experience with Purchasing w/ CPG company (beverage industry preferred).
- Understands basic management approaches such as management of workflow, quality review, coaching, and performance management.
- SAP Experience preferred.
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills across different countries and functions within an organization.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Management process improvements projects related to the purchasing function.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a dynamic and fast-paced, changing environment and take initiative.
Qualifications
Education
Preferred
Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.
Experience
Required
Experience with commodities, hedging tools, and aluminum political and economic market conditions.
5 years:
Experience with a CPG company (beverage industry preferred).Preferred
SAP Experience preferred.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
